Software

• http://www.versiontracker.com/macosx/ seems to be the canonical source of information for commercial OS X apps. Lots of shareware and open-source, too.
• http://osx.freshmeat.net is a great place to look for new OS X apps, and to keep up on the latest versions of software you use. Drop the "osx." at the beginning of the URL if you would like to browse the more general archive (much of that software will compile under OS X, or might be available via fink.)
• There's a nice list of freeware/shareware/commercial apps at http://danlynn.org/osx/.

Tips, tricks, howtos

• I suggest checking in with http://www.macosxhints.com once a week. While many of the articles are not of interest to me, occasionally I find a real gem. The nice organization of the articles makes it quick and easy to sort the wheat from the chaff.
• There used to be a great site at http://www.withay.com/macosx/notes.html with info on how to get NFS working under OS X using netinfo, also tips on ssh-agent. As of August, 2004, however, it appears to be defunct.
• Some solid instructions can still be had at Brandeis' site: http://web.brandeis.edu/pages/view/Bio/MacOSX, including NFS, SMB shares, etc.

• http://davespicks.com/writing/programming/mackeys.html lists most of the keyboard shortcuts I know about. Know of any others? Mail me!
