[OS X] NFS, automount, and network changes

Howdy,

This is a "for the record" email.

Under 10.3, I had NFS automounting working, and had figured out
some clever way so that it only had the automounter turned on when I
was connected to my work network. Thus, sitting at work, I could
access the networked home file system, etc., by just cd /Volumes/AOS/
home/splash/andyj, or something like that.

The automounter business is preserved--I tried it out first on a
different OS X machine here at Princeton and the configuration is
still there. The clever business about turning the automounter on
and off based on whatever network I am on was never backed up and
vanished with my OS X upgrade to Tiger. Yeah, yeah, I know, I should
back up system directories as well as user directories, but I didn't.

Eventually the automounting NFS explanantion will get written up
for the web page, but it may take some time for that to happen. If
there's interest in the meantime, just drop me a line and I'll dig up
the info for you.

     -Andy
