[OS X] X11 doesn't find man pages

Sorry about that. I mean that if I run the Terminal program that comes
with the default OS X installation (I don't know what it's called), I
can bring up any of the man pages (eg, "man ls" works).
If instead I use X11, which I've installed since getting the mac,
neither "man ls" nor any other man page comes up (error message: "no
manual entry for ls").
I assume this is simply because X11 doesn't know where to look for the
man pages, although I'm a bit confused as to how that is possible, and
don't know where I would add the necessary pointer.
cheers,
-guillaume
